Now More Than Ever Disney Party

A big thank you to Disney and BSM Media for this awesome free Disney Party Box! This #NowMoreThanEver box was packed with so many awesome items!

There were a few different styles of boxes that went out. We received the Mickey Mouse box. We all LOVE Mickey Mouse. We had family and friends in town for the week of July 4th, so we popped open our box and had a week of partying!

One of the most popular items in our box was this Popped Passion Popcorn cake. We had a fun lunch of hotdogs and hamburgers and pulled out this fun cake for dessert. My littlest guy loved it so much he tried to claim all of it for himself.

The next day we used our Mickey themed plates, cups, and napkins for a picnic in the park. I would have used the tablecloth too but the kids snuck it out for a lemonade stand with their friends the day before. Mickey definitely made it around town this week!

A coupon for a free family sized Michael Angelos meal was included in our box. And this made for a great “after swimming” snack for all these kiddos. And we finished off our weekend with this fun Mickey piñata.

This was supposedly a box for my 6yr old (who’s a boy) but there were a lot of girl themed items.

This Mickey Pillow Pet was well loved. It has hearts on it so none of the boys wanted it. But the girls were all about it! It’s super cute, and makes a great addition to my daughter’s pillow collection – yes, she has a pillow collection.

And the matching Belle dress and doll are adorable! We gave these to one of our guests. She’s 3 and the dress fits her with a little room to grow and she’s super excited to have such a fun doll for her trip home.

The Mickey Mouse Masks were a very popular item. I spent days “stalking” the kids trying to get a picture of them wearing these, but they were having so much fun, I never managed to get someone standing still long enough to get a good picture – LOL.

We had so much fun sharing our Disney Fun with friends and family!

Pley Subscription Box Review

I received the Pley Disney Princess box free for purposes of my review. All opinions are my own.

First off, my 6yr old was so excited to receive her own pink box in the mail! She couldn’t wait to open it.

One box is $29.99 – including shipping or you can get a subscription for $27.99 a box. Boxes ship every other month so you can send your princess 6 boxes a year.

So, what comes in a princess box? I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I was actually surprised by the quality of the items.

  1. The box transforms into a castle – my kids thought this was so cool!
  2. When you sign up, you give your child’s t-shirt size. This t-shirt is so cute!
  3. The book has a story about the princess and some little activities
  4. The figurines were by far my daughter’s favorite – she combined those with her new castle and has had so much fun!
  5. The crown is beautiful and even has a little rose in the center.

This box contained some really great items that were lots of fun for my daughter to play with. Would my child enjoy a box like this every other month? Yes, she would. Just guessing what princess will come next would be fun and the box items are well selected and so much fun!

You can find out more information on the Pley Disney Princess Website.

And check out my daughter unboxing her new Pley Disney Princess Box.

My Disney Kids Preschool Playdate

Thanks to Walt Disney World Resort and MomSelect for this awesome Disney Kids Preschool Playdate party box!

We had friends over and we moms hung out and talked while the kids played in the yard and enjoyed snacks and all the awesome party box contents! The weather was beautiful and the kids had tons of fun while we moms got to relax.

IMG_20160317_223821991IMG_20160317_223750468Everyone loved these Disney Junior drawstring bags. They were perfect for taking home all their “loot”.

Plus, my preschoolers love Disney Junior!

There were some pretty awesome sponsors this year. Like these sample packs of All Laundry Detergent. With 3 kids I ALLways need more laundry detergent. And since I also have a child who’s sensitive to dyes and scents, free & clear detergent is a must.

Best of all. The hostess gift this year was just awesome! It’s something we’ll get lots of use out of and it made my daughter so happy!

Of course, the favorite item in the box was this adorable Princess Sofia suitcase. My 5yr old daughter claimed it the second it came out of the box. She pulled it around for days and even had it packed for a trip to Grandma’s house (that she was planning all by herself). She’ll definitely get lots of use out of this.

The Lion Guard is Disney Junior’s newest show and all the kids were delighted with the animals, tattoos, and posters to take home. This is where those Disney Jr. bags came in really handy!

Next up, my 2yr old son claimed this adorable book sponsored by Banfield Pet Hospital. It’s such a cute story and my little guy loves dogs. And those Cars sandwich bags. I had to hide them from him so he wouldn’t “drive” them all over the house before the party. I put four chocolate cookies in each bag for “tires” for the kid’s snacks.

And Nesquik is our very favorite chocolate milk powder. We go through that stuff so fast! It’s delicious and ensures that my kids drink lots of milk.

Did you notice the Mickey? Actually, we have a Mickey or a Minnie depending on which side of the hat you show. Each of the kids got one of these hats to take home as well. Jake on one side and Sofia on the other. And since we had a mixed group of kids, this made everyone happy.

Last but not least, these super sparkly glitter puff glues from I Love to Create. There were also white paper bags and some templates for making puppets. The kids had so much fun designing their own characters with the glue, though, they did take quite a while to dry!

We had a blast at our party, and I’m so grateful to Walt Disney World Resort, MomSelect, and all the awesome sponsors for such a great box for our #DisneyKids party!

I received free products in order to host the Disney Kids Preschool Playdate. The opinions expressed here are my own.

My Disney Side Party

Thanks to Disney Parks and MomSelect for the awesome box full of Disney party supplies and sponsor products! We had a great time showing our #DisneySide!

There were several hostess gifts, A full-size box of laundry packets from All – which I’ve been wanting to try but didn’t want to spend the money and find out I don’t like it, so now I get to try it for free! Horray!

Also included was a Mickey Mouse pan and this awesome Duff Tie-Dye cake mix. Which you can purchase at Target. How did I not know about this already?!

My box was perfect! We celebrated my little girl’s 4th birthday this weekend and she wanted a Minnie Mouse party. Guess what! I got the Mickey and Friends box, she was super excited!

There was nail polish – the peel off kind, that I love for the girls – two Palace Pets, Minnie and Mickey party supplies and some fun Mickey Mouse party games like “pin the smile on Mickey”, Disney bingo, and a princess word search.

I already had her Birthday party scheduled at a local Bounce House place and I couldn’t bring food to that so I used the Minnie treat boxes to make the gift boxes for the kids that came to the party. I put in them the purple confetti that was packed in the box (it was used as packing material and purple is my 4yr old’s favorite color so this worked out really well). The Mickey Mouse Clubhouse pencils, crayons, stickers, and each child got a Mickey or Minnie luggage tag, and I assembled the Disney Diamonds and put candy in them. It made for a cute and easy treat box! I posted a video to my YouTube channel showing off my gift boxes!

The cake tower was so much fun! I didn’t have a way to integrate it into the party so we ended up using it for cupcakes on her actual Birthday and had a mini celebration on our own.

We have lots of family that lives in town, so, not to leave them out, we had another Birthday party the day after her party with friends (I know, 3 birthday parties, it doesn’t get much better than this).

I made the Mickey Mouse cake for this party. I had trouble getting the cake out of the pan – I ended up getting it out in pieces, piecing it together, and using lots of extra icing and it turned out great. Plus, everyone loves extra icing! The TieDie Cake mix is awesome! Everyone was so impressed with my cooking skills and it was so super easy! I’ll be making more TieDye cakes for parties. This is such a perfect party cake and really way easier to make than it seems it would be.

For my Sunday guests, I passed out the HP photo paper and we played the Disney games with the kids. Such fun! We had an awesome week of showing our Disney Side!

I received free products in order to host a Disney Side @Home Celebration. The opinions expressed here are my own.

Summertime!

So, it’s summertime, and I deliberately did not sign my kids up for any summertime activities. Well, I take that back, I deliberately TRIED not to sign my kids up for any summertime activities before summer began. We’re not doing any dance camps, no dance lessons, no parent’s day out programs, etc. So, I think I’m doing pretty good so far.

I did plan out our reading logs for the summer. (we’ve already turn our first one in). My 5yr old finally took off on some independent reading – think “learn to read” books stages 1 and 2 – at the end of the school year and I don’t want to re-teach that the beginning of next year, so she’s participating in every reading activity in sight. It’s a good thing, she’s motivated by prizes, so filling up her sheet and turning it in for something appeals to her. I picked up her library reading sheet yesterday (which was the first day I could get it) and about a dozen books for her to read as well. She was all set to fill up her entire reading log – she has to read 30 hours – in one day. I explained to her that we can’t turn our sheets in for a month, and that we have plenty of time to read the books we have and check out some more to read. So, she only read 2 books to me this morning, and I’m sure she’ll try to read as many as possible at bedtime (it’s her new “stay out of bed” trick). There’s a few more reading logs we can’t sign up for until June (pizza hut does one) so we’ll be busy all summer with our reading! And the best part, she’s actually asking to read!

I just discovered yesterday that the Disney Store has activities every day of the week starting in June. I guess we’ll be going to their summer kick-off the beginning of June and be visiting the store many times this summer. They have story time every Tuesday, and I’m not sure what else planned for the summer, I think a craft time one day, and I’m sure plenty of other activities to keep two little girls happy.

We have season tickets to our local water park – which opened this past weekend, horray! My kids love the park and we plan to have some really nice tans by the end of summer!

And to top it off, I’m doing something I always said I would never do, my 5 yr old is entering a beauty pagent this year. I was just notified yesterday that she’s a “state finalist” so I should soon be receiving my envelope with all my schedule info and such.

Yes, I’m doing a terrific job of doing nothing this summer!  Not really, but at least it’s all fun stuff! And my summer is just starting 🙂 Surely I can fit in a vacation or two, a couple of Birthday parties, and maybe a shopping trip!

My Disney Side Party

Thanks to Disney Side @Home Celebrations for my awesome box of party supplies for my #Disneyside party! With all these snow days we’ve just been off of our schedule for weeks, so I decided to keep it simple and do a playdate. Actually, I did a playdate and a pre-playdate the night before plus a few other random things throughout the week.

The first evening we had some friends over and the kids played the disney bingo and won prizes from our Disney prize bag – I used the stickers, balloons, bracelets, tatoos, and bumper stickers. A couple of the kids that were going to come ended up not being able to come as planned but we still had a great time! We had spaghetti for dinner and monster cupcakes in our Mickey Mouse cupcake wrappers.

The next morning we had our playdate. There were 6 kids total, we decorated T-shirts, played Disney bingo, colored our race posters, ate more cupcakes, and let the kids play.

I had traced mickey and minnie pictures onto the shirts before the party so all the kids (or moms) had to do was color them in. We all had a blast! I think the moms had more fun than the kids did coloring!

I don’t have a color printer or a photo printer so I gave away all the photo card paper at the party, and it’ll definitely get used. People were pretty excited to get to print their own pictures!

Only a few of the kids wanted posters so I had a few posters left over after the party that I sent to my sisters for Valentines day.

The next day me and the kids made our Mickey Mouse cookies and shared them with some friends we had over. The cookies turned out great and the kids had a great time decorating them! I finally figured out a good sugar cookie icing recipe (water, powdered sugar, and food coloring – when it dries you can stack the cookies without the icing sticking) so now I just need to nail down a good sugar cookie recipe. My recipe was ok but I’ve had better.

We’ve had so much fun showing our #DisneySide with our Disney @Home Celebration box!

Disney Side

I’m so excited! I received a bunch of free products from Disney Side @Home Celebrations to host my own #Disneyside party!

First of all, people started getting their boxes weeks ago. And these boxes had some awesome stuff in them! So, I was eagerly awaiting mine. Well, it was scheduled to be delivered Tuesday. And guess what happened Tuesday? Snow, enough snow that UPS didn’t deliver. So, I had to wait till Wednesday. Very impatiently wait, I might add.

Here’s a bunch of party supplies, Mickey Mouse themed plates, cups, napkins, cookie cutters, table cloth, bracelets, stickers and tattoos, banners, and craisins. There is also Disney bingo, Disney posters, HP Photo card packs, Disney vacation planning DVD, measuring cups, recipe cards, and Hanes white t-shirts with fabric markers.

And, a very special hostess gift. An American Tourister suitcase and Mickey Mouse luggage tag. I saw pictures of other’s suitcases and some were getting black with red, pink, and green. I’m not a pink or green suitcase person so I was really hoping for the black and red. Which is exactly what I got. WooHoo! I’ve really been needing some new luggage and I’ve honestly never owned a piece of luggage quite this nice before. Now, I just need to plan a trip…

Back to the party, my kids are so excited! I told them we would have a playdate with friends and we can decorate t-shirts and cookies and have disney themed snacks. I haven’t planned out my menu yet but expect pictures of whatever I come up with!

Thanks again to Disney Parks and MomSelect for all this awesome Disney party stuff!
