This book is so cute and adorable! My little 3yr old loves it. He has me read it to him over and over again. And we have to stop and discuss the pictures on each of the pages as we go. He loves all the different things the bears do. The rhyme is so sweet and I love that it teaches my kids that they’re each special individuals with their own likes, dislikes, and skills.

Aquation – Review

I received 3 full size Aquation products free for purposes of my review. All opinions are my own.

About Aquation:

There are endless elements that affect your skin daily – not all of them in your control. There is a solution. Skincare that protects, restores and fortifies, with moisture you can feel. Clinically proven results you can see. Moisture balance technology you can count on. The perfect Aquation for hydrated + healthy skin.

Powered by Hydro Balance™ Aquation’s advanced dual phase technology delivers hydration and creates an invisible barrier to help prevent moisture loss while encapsulated actives penetrate deeply for long-lasting hydration. 100% of women in clinical trials saw more hydrated skin, even up to 24 hours. 93% experienced instant hydration. 93% found non-irritating.

Aquation consists of a family of hydrating cleansers, creams, and moisturizers. You can learn more about Aquation here.

Summer can be so hard on my skin. I’ve been outside with the kids a LOT this summer, and my skin definitely needs some additional moisture. So, I am quite happy that I got to try out these products.

Aquation Gentle Moisturizing Cleanser:

I set this cleanser in my shower and used it instead of my usual body wash. I am very pleased with the results.

It doesn’t lather very well. I tried it in my loofah and that didn’t work very well. This body was was just a bit too lotiony to lather. So, if you’re looking for lots of bubbles, this isn’t the product for you.

I also tried it using a wash cloth (because I like to scrub with something) and that worked quite well. The pump bottle is easy to use in the shower.

The results are what I’m most pleased with. This body wash did a great job of cleansing without drying out my skin. It also moisturized without leaving my skin feeling greasy or oily.

It’s lightly moisturizing, so you’re still going to want to use the Aquation lotion after your shower if your skin really needs moisture, like mine does. But it is nice to get out of the shower with my skin already one step closer to being well moisturized.

Aquation Daily Moisturizing Lotion:

I just love, love, love this lotion! It moisturizes so well without leaving my skin greasy. One of my biggest lotion challenges is that after putting lotion on my hands are clammy because of the lotion. I often end up having to wash my hands just to get the greasy feel off – which kinda defeats the purpose of using the lotion. Not so with this lotion. It absorbs quickly and without leaving my skin oily to the touch.

This is a great all over body lotion but honestly, I’m loving it for my hands because I can moisturize my hands without the being greasy afterwards. I need to get a bottle just for my desk so I have it on hand when I want it.

Aquation Moisturizing Cream:

This is a lot like the Daily Moisturizing Lotion, just a little thicker and a little bit more moisturizing. I’ve been using this product after my shower and on any spots that need extra hydration. Like my shoulders after a fun day in the sun.

I’m not using it every day but just when I need a little extra moisture and it’s working great. It’s also non greasy but still does a great job of hydrating my skin.

This combined with the Daily Lotion and the Moisturizing Cleanser has been really good for my skin.

CZ9xifT1ScunNbPVIetK_AB16-13_Products_052616

After more than a week of using these products my skin is more hydrated and refreshed than I usually manage in the summer.

All of these products are gentle and non-irritating to my skin. They also seem to be unscented so they would be safe for me to use on my kids as well.

Want to try these product for yourself? You can purchase them HERE. Or purchase in-store at WalMart and use this Coupon for additional savings. At $9 each these are a great deal!

Groupon, Save on Mattress Toppers

This is a sponsored post. All opinions are my own.

Lately, Hubby and I have been discussing when to purchase a new mattress. We’ve been needing a new mattress for a little while now, but we just can’t seem to decide on what mattress to get. He’s a back sleeper, and I’m a side sleeper, but we tend to migrate toward the middle of the bed (especially when one of the kids climbs in and joins us) so a mattress with different sides just isn’t a good option for us. Which means we need to agree on a mattress.

Speaking of which, have you ever gone mattress shopping with kids? I did, once. It’s not happening again – I know, it probably will, because how else am I going to go mattress shopping? But, it’s awful. It’s a room full of beds. To be jumped on. Rolled off of. Hidden under. Etc. I don’t actually get any shopping done.

As you can see. Mattress shopping is going to take a long time. So, what to do with my increasingly uncomfortable mattress in the mean time? I visited my mom a while back and she had this awesome mattress pad on a previously uncomfortable mattress. If that’s all it takes to make my mattress more comfortable, I’m all in. But I don’t want mattress pad shopping to be a pain like mattress shopping is. Since I do plan to buy a mattress soon, hopefully. I don’t want to spend a fortune on a mattress pad either.

This is where Groupon Goods comes in. They have some great deals on mattress toppers & pads that will help me sleep more comfortably until I actually find the time (and energy) to go mattress shopping.

Groupon

With so many great deals to choose from, It’ll be easy to find something that fits my budget. I’m just loving that Groupon has so many ways to save money!

In the comments below tell me, do you have a mattress pad that you love? Maybe I can find it on Groupon Goods and save myself lots of time and money. And sleep better as well!

Oh, and if you just can’t get enough of Groupon, feel free to follow their facebook and twitter!

I received this beautiful perfume in order to review my purchase experience. Bamboo by Frank Oliver smells awesome! It has a great light, feminine scent. It’s not too strong and I can wear it pretty much anywhere. Really, I’m loving it. And the bottle is so pretty. Currently, it’s sitting out in my living room because it goes so well with my decor.

And purchasing it was so easy! The Fragrance Outlet website was easy to use from start to finish. They have so much to choose from. So many items on sale. They carry full size bottles (like Bamboo) and some travel size sets. I had lots of fun just browsing before I finally decided to check out and order my perfume.

Oh, and they carry these little Airport-Approved refillable Fragrance spray bottles. Hubby’s been traveling a lot lately and I’ve been looking for something like this for him. Of course, I had to add it to my order. I was already getting free shipping, so, why not? That said, they seem to have everything I need in the fragrance department. Now he just needs to take another trip so he can try it out.

There’s several payment options at checkout. Their site, Paypal, or Amazon. So you can pay whichever way is best for you. I just used their website to checkout and it’s what you would expect. Payment information, Address information, Confirm order. The total and what I’m actually purchasing is clear and easy to find – very important for online orders. Checkout was a breeze.

My order arrived a couple of days later. Shipping was way faster than I expected! When it arrived, my perfume was nicely packaged in this cute box. So, if I was giving a gift, I would have been ready to go. This was more like giving myself a gift – which is also fun, btw. You should order yourself some perfume from The Fragrance Outlet and try it out.

They also included 4 little perfume samples – and I LOVE perfume samples!

All in all, I had a great experience. The website is easy to browse. They carry a great selection of products for both men and women. Checkout was easy. Shipping was fast – oh, you get free shipping right now, if your order is over $50. And my order arrived well packaged.

As an added bonus, I’m just loving the engraved bamboo on the back of my Bamboo Eau De Parfum. It’s so pretty!

3 Summertime Zoo Essentials

My kids just love the zoo! In fact, where we live, the zoo is like the summer hangout place for moms with kids. There’s animals, food, a splash pad, and an indoor play area for if the weather is bad. What more could you want?

Of course, when we head out to the zoo there’s 3 things I just can’t be without!

1. Little Red Wagon – This is definitely the best Summer purchase I’ve ever made. It’s also absolutely necessary for all the walking we do at the zoo. My kids are old enough to climb in and out as they want and the canopy gives them a little extra shade on sunny days – it also serves as a backup umbrella for surprise rain showers.

My only complaint with this wagon, it doesn’t have any sort of lock for the wheels. I just remember to turn the front wheels sideways when I’m parking it somewhere, so it doesn’t roll away on me.

I got this a couple of years ago and we’re still loving it. There’s room for 2 kids, our lunchbox, a small diaper bag, and a few towels. Talk about convenient!

2. Bento Boxes – I ordered these last year for school lunches and we’ve used them for that, trips to the zoo, and any other event that requires a picnic. They’re so convenient! Everyone knows which color is theirs so there’s no fighting over who gets what. And since I know who gets which color it’s easy for me to customize lunches. Best of all, I can easily fit all of them in my little portable cooler!

I don’t know about your zoo, but my zoo has really terrible concessions that are way overpriced. So everyone brings their own lunch. These little bento boxes have been a lifesaver!

3. Bobble Water Bottle – You just can’t go to the zoo all day without water. And Bobble has so many different lid colors so no one fights over which one is theirs. Have you noticed a theme? Yes, we color code practically EVERYTHING in my house. Then we always know who owns what. Plus, with the filter in, even if we’re just grabbing water from the water fountain, I know our water is well filtered.

So, tell me, do your kids love the zoo? What’s something you can’t go to the zoo without?

All Things Bright And Beautiful – Review and Giveaway

BrightAndBeautiful

I received this book free for purposes of my review. All opinions are my own.

About the book:
First published by Cecil Frances Alexander in 1848, this favorite hymn has become a mainstay of churches and Sunday school classes everywhere. Here artist Katy Hudson brings new joy to the words with her fresh and bright watercolor style. Readers can join in the fun as they follow two little girls and their brother on a day filled with the discovery of “all things bright and beautiful.”

About the artist:
Katy Hudson was raised in Middlesbrough, England, and started her career as a small child drawing on freshly painted walls. Her parents quickly encouraged drawing with pencil and paper instead. The idea stuck, and after earning a degree in illustration, Katy is now a freelance illustrator. Katy works at a desk in a studio within Old London Library and likes to tap dance in her spare time.

Review:
This book is filled with beautiful illustrations for each line from this poem. My children have been reading it over and over. Sometimes for the poem and sometimes for the pictures. We often have to stop and discuss the pictures as we read through this book. And they enjoy “reading” it alone so they can go at their own pace through the pictures.

This book is such a sweet and beautiful addition to any kid’s library.

5 Beach Essentials

I don’t know about you, but I love the beach! I remember beach vacations as a kid. And taking my kids to the beach now is just so much fun! I’m actually not sure who enjoys it more. Me, or the kids. We always come home with the kids begging to return.

For our beach trips, there are so many things I just can’t do without. So, here’s my top 5.

1. Body Board – We actually purchased a second one to take to the beach this year because we only had one last year, and one just isn’t enough.

This is fun for all ages and great for small to medium waves. The beach we go to has between 1 and 3 foot waves on most days. Not enough for surfing, but perfect for a body board.

I had to share WAY too much last year, so we bought a second. And I’m betting that next year we’ll decide that we need a third. This board is perfect for me and my husband to use.

And the kids will ride anything. On this board they can basically just sit on it while I tow them out and then ride in on their own. Pretty awesome for them. On a smaller board they get tossed around a little more – but that’s what life jackets are for!

2. Puddle Jumper – Speaking of life jackets. Puddle jumpers are my preferred flotation device for littles. They’re coast guard approved and in my opinion work even better than a life jacket. And they’re rated for up to 50 pounds. My kids all fit in these until they turned 6.

The arms and short front flotation give my kids way better balance in the water than a traditional life jacket. It’s easier for them to stay upright, and it keeps their head a little further up out of the water than a life jacket. Perfect for a sunny day playing in the ocean.

Plus it comes in all sorts of colors, so each child has his/her own and everyone knows who’s it is. No fighting over puddle jumpers!

3. Rash Guard – My husband has red hair and he burns just thinking about the beach. We can’t lather enough sunscreen on him to keep him from burning.

This rash guard is an awesome solution. It fits like a second skin and keeps him from burning. We’ve tried both short sleeved and long and he says the long is way more comfortable, and he doesn’t have to worry about burning his arms.

This lets water freely pass through, and clings tight to your body, so you can swim and enjoy the beach without being weighted down by your shirt. The perfect solution for if you burn easily or just don’t want to wear a ton of sunscreen.

4. Beach Umbrella – Another way to stay out of the sun is a beach umbrella. It’s also a great place to store chairs, buckets, shovels, drinks, phones, speakers, sunscreen, towels, flip-flops, cooler, and whatever else your kids just can’t live without!

Man, I’m tired just thinking about toting all that down to the beach! I like to set up a chair or two, hang up my speaker, and enjoy a cold drink in the shade while watching the kids build sand castles.

Just make sure you purchase a few extra tent stakes, we lost a few last year and didn’t realize they would be so easy to use! Luckily, they’re cheap, so I just grabbed some new ones, plus a few extras for this year.

This umbrella also folds down to basically smaller than my beach chair, so it’s super easy to carry and transport to the beach. Way easier than my cooler!

5. Wireless Speaker – And of course, no trip would be complete without music! This little speaker lasts forever (something like 10 hours). It’s very durable. Shock and water resistant. Has great sound. A little hook for hanging it in the tent. And even has an emergency flashlight for if you find yourself on a dark beach with just your speaker – if that happens, please share in the comments below, because it’s sure to be an interesting story.

Relaxing in the shade with my favorite tunes was definitely a fun way to spend a few minutes at the beach. You know, those 2.5 minutes of rest before I had to go rescue a toddler from the teensy tiny hold in the sand that his sister dug for him.

Would a Worm go on a Walk? – Review & Giveaway

WormOnAWalk

Thanks to Propeller Consulting, LLC for this fun book to review and giveaway!

About the book:

“Would a worm go on a walk, if you could lead him down the street? / Would he wear his tiny tennies, if he had two worm-sized feet?”

So begins this humorous and imaginative picture book that introduces children to the idea that animals are uniquely created by a loving and wise God. Would a Worm Go on a Walk?, with its colorful, comical illustrations, is a fresh, fun way to teach young children that God created all things very good. He gave all the animals, and children, too, wonderful qualities and unique strengths. Children will giggle over the ridiculous scenarios presented, and they will come away with the knowledge that we all are loved and special.

Format: Jacketed hardcover

Page count: 32

Reading age: 4-7

About the author:

Hannah C. Hall is the author of best-selling children’s books, including God Bless You and Good Night and God Bless Our Christmas, as well as an award-winning blog, HannahCHall.com. Hannah lives in Prairie Grove, AK with her husband, Josh, a worship pastor, and their four children.

My thoughts on the book:

I had my 5yr old help me review this book since she’s right in the reading age range. She loves it. We’ve read it over and over. It’s such a cute book, with adorable pictures, and a fun rhyme. She laughs every time we get to the part about pigs playing the piano.

This is such a cute book about how God made everything special and unique, including yourself.

My 7yr old loves this book as well. She can read it herself, and sometimes she’ll even read it to her younger siblings.

The pictures are so bright and fun, and the book is so funny and cute at the same time. This is a book my kids will enjoy for a long time.

Peter and the Wolf House Party

Thanks to Giants Are Small and MomSelect I received this awesome free party box!

It had all sorts of awesome items! Construction paper, balloons, cups, plates, napkins, posters, Peter & The Wolf CD, crayons, popcorn, pins, jello, pretzels, chocolate, umbrellas, HP photo paper, table cloth, coloring pages, and a $10 iTunes gift card.

They had some great party sponsors like MyPrintly and iLoveToCreate.

PWContents

A few hours before the party my kids decided that we needed to blow up ALL the balloons. They even tried to help. I’m not a big fan of slobbery balloons that the kids have tried and now want me to blow up for them. We did manage to blow up most of the package though and then throw them all over the house right before our guests arrived.

I didn’t get a good picture of this. Have you ever tried to photograph balloons all over your house? It’s just doesn’t go well…

The Peter & the Wolf Buttons and coloring pages were a big hit among our guests. All the kids were so excited to take a button home (I think they were calling them badges). And the construction paper was well enjoyed, even if it wasn’t used for the specified art project. The girls banded together and we ended up with a bunch of heart fans.

ArtSupplies

We had so much fun eating these jello beach snacks. I used the blue Jello that came in my box. After it set, I topped it with cool-whip and crushed nilla wafers. Then stuck in an umbrella.

JellO Beach
1 large box of blue JellO
12 clear white cups
1 container cool-whip softened
1 cup nilla wafers – crushed
12 drink umbrellas

  1. Prepare JellO per package directions. Divide evenly among clear cups. Put in fridge to set.
  2. Once JellO is set, top with cool-wip, then sprinkle crushed nilla wafers, then add the umbrellas.
  3. Enjoy!

GreenUmbrella

It’s also no exaggeration that my kids LOVE the Peter and the Wolf in Hollywood app. I have trouble prying it away from my little guy. The story is fun, interactive, and so entertaining! All the kids love it!

Check out their website Peter and the Wolf in Hollywood for more info and links to the app for iPhone and iPad.

EnjoyingPW

We had a great party, with tasty treats, fun art projects, and enjoyed a fun new #PeterandtheWolfApp!

I have received free products compliments of MomSelect and Giants Are Small in order to host the Peter and the Wolf in Hollywood MommyParty. The opinions expressed here are my own.

Esther: The Belle of Patience – Review and Giveaway

I received a digital copy of this book for free to review. Once it’s printed I will be receiving a physical copy as well. Speaking of which, enter the giveaway below for your chance to win a copy of this book, hot off the presses!

Esther

Bible Belles’ The Adventure of Rooney Cruz is an original children’s series that presents real life heroes like never before. The series highlights five superhero women of the Bible: Hannah, Esther, Abigail, Ruth and Deborah.

They’re setting out to present women in the Bible in a way that has never been done before to help girls remember their names, their stories, and how special they are.

Esther: The Belle of Patience – by Erin Weidemann is the second in this series. It’s a cute story about a little girl named Rooney who’s struggling with patience. She learns about Esther and the patience she exhibited and how she can apply that to her own life.

This book is great for both my 7yr old and my 5yr old daughters. The 7yr old can easily read this book by herself. It’s a pretty quick read, and she likes shorter books, so this is perfect for her. My 5yr old enjoyed having me read this book to her. Both girls loved the colorful pictures.

The story of Esther was told simply, and in a way that kept the girls interested. And I like that it opens up a good conversation about patience and when it’s a good idea to wait for things instead of demanding that they be done immediately.

For more info, check out the Bible Belle’s Book Trailer.

Enter below for your chance to win a copy of this colorful and fun book!
