MY RESULTS:
I just love Valentia! I’ve liked every product of theirs that I’ve tried and this one is no exception. It is lightweight, absorbs quickly, and is easy to rub on to my face. The bottle is easy to use, and I don’t have any trouble getting exactly the amount of moisturizer that I want to use.
I can apply makeup over this moisturizer without a problem and my face stays moisturized throughout the day.
It has practically no scent, which I just love in my facial moisturizer.
Valentia uses natural ingredients and the Valentia Pure Glow Brightning Moisturizer is working great on my skin. My face is moisturized, soft, clear, and bright. I’m loving this moisturizer.

Since I’m in my 30s I got to try the Age Defend Ark Skincare line. This line is formulated for women in their 30s and 40s and is designed to reduce wrinkles and moisturize my skin.
ARK AgeDefend Replenishing Moisturiser
This is a twice a day (morning and evening) facial moisturizer. Designed for women in their 30s and 40s. It’s designed to reduce wrinkles and moisturize my skin. Because in my 30’s I want to keep my skin healthy and protected so I can maintain good skin as I age.
My first big beauty product concern is scent. It’s really important to me that I like the scent of whatever beauty product I’m using. This AgeDefend Replenishing Moisturizer smells great. I think it’s the combination of the SheaButter, Kiwi, and Blue Lotus. It’s refreshing and relaxing at the same time. The perfect scent for morning and evening. The scent doesn’t linger long, I really only smell it until I have the lotion rubbed in, which is perfect.
Next up is convenience. This bottle is easy to use and non-messy. Both very important. I just push the top down a little bit and I can easily get the amount of lotion that I want.
Last but not least, effectiveness. I’ve been using this for a week and have not had any breakouts or other problems with this product. My face is moisturized throughout the day without being greasy, and since this is non-greasy my makeup goes on fine over this moisturizer.
This is a great facial moisturizer and it is refreshing and works well on my skin.
ARK SkinPerfector Hydration Injection Masque
This Masque is formulated for all ages. The older you are, the longer you leave it on. You can even leave it on overnight if desired.
Since I’m in my 30s I followed the directions and put the masque on for 10 minutes.
The masque feels like a thick lotion when you put it on, it smells great, just like the AgeDefend Replenishing Moisturizer. It’s a relaxing and refreshing scent. But not that strong because I’m pretty sure that only the person wearing the masque can smell it.
It also goes on clear. With it on, my face just looked a little shiny. Which wasn’t enough to alert my husband to the fact that I was wearing a masque.
I put the masque on, said goodnight to the kids, and sat down in the kitchen to wait until I could wash it off. My husband walked over and I was barely halfway through warning him when he gave me a big kiss on the cheek. And then there was no need to tell him that I had a masque on. The masque apparently does not taste very good.
The masque was easy to wash off with warm water and I applied my ARK Age Defend Replenishing Moisturizer afterwards. My skin was soft and well moisturized.
Both of these products work well, are non-irritating, and smell great! For more information and to find the products designed for your skin check out Ark Skincare’s Website. You can shop by age, skin concern, and product type to find something that’s just right for you.

Probiotics, I hear that term tossed around but what exactly are probiotics? In the normal human gut there are over 100 trillion bacteria. As you get older, get stressed, or take antibiotics those normal good-guy bacteria die off. These probiotics do everything from helping to break down food, providing essential nutrients like vitamin K, and keeping the competing bad bacteria at bay. Sounds like a good thing to me.
Why do we need probiotics? Typical modern diets are too sterile, loaded with antibiotics, and not diverse enough to maintain optimal probiotic levels. Our food supply is now more processed, sterilized, and loaded with more antibiotics than ever before. Basically, we’re not getting enough bacteria and such in our diets, our food is too clean.
Probiotics supplement the gastrointestinal tract with those known, good, beneficial organisms. Probiotic supplements are one of the most popular health supplements because they actually work to help maintain digestive health. There’s a lot that’s not known about probiotics, but from what is known, we need them to keep our digestive system healthy.
Nexabiotic is one of the top selling probiotics on Amazon. It’s advanced formula combines 23 different kinds of probiotics into 1 small capsule. Or, for the kid’s version, one chewable, tasty, tablet.
All that to say, I’ve been wanting to try a probiotic so I was pretty excited to get to try some for me and for my kids for free!
These adult pills are pretty small, but if you don’t like taking pills, the capsules can be opened and mixed in with foods. I personally would rather take a pill, so that’s what I did.
It’s recommended that you take this on an empty stomach. Though, luckily not required. I could never seem to remember to take it before eating so I usually took mine about 30 minutes after a meal.
I eat pretty well – lots of fresh veggies and such – so I didn’t notice a huge difference. The big thing for me is it didn’t bother my stomach, which means it must be working pretty well. I’m usually pretty sensitive to supplements of any kind – even children’s vitamins can bother me – so to take something that is good for my digestion and didn’t bother me a bit is pretty good.
I swallowed mine with water. It has no aftertaste or anything like that. So, all in all. These are easy to take and seem to be working well for me.
The kids have little citrus flavored tablets. They’re not very sweet. The kids like them. They’re pretty small. Dissolve quickly. Not highly flavored but they taste ok.
Keeping up with the kids diets can be a challenge. So every little bit helps. It’s nice to know that they’re getting good things that will help keep their digestive system healthy.
Allergy warning, on the back of the bottle it says that these probiotics are processed in a facility that may process milk, soy, wheat, egg, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, and shellfish. We’re not allergic to anything, so I was comfortable using these. But if you or your child has any of these allergies, this may not be the best probiotic for you.
The baby version is more complicated to use. I have to mix it in with food or drink. My youngest is 3 and he felt that this was an unacceptable way to serve him probiotics. Mainly, he doesn’t like me mixing stuff in his food. It had nothing to do with the taste – which I didn’t notice a taste when I tried it.
My older kids thought it wasn’t fair that I mixed stuff in his food and not theirs, so if he really doesn’t want it, the older kids are more than happy to eat it for him. I think for a younger child who’s not really that opinionated about the precise details of their food, this would work pretty well.
I received a $25 gift card to Family Christian in exchange for my review. All opinions are my own.
Family Christian Store is a one stop shop for all your Christian Book and Media needs. They have Bibles, Books, Music, DVDs, Kid’s Items, and even apparel.
They’re the exclusive retail partner for Active Faith Sports. A line of workout apparel with Christian-inspired designs and messages. You can check out their promo video for more information.
The closest Family Christian is 3 hours away from me so I chose to shop online with my gift card. I had way too much fun spending it and ended up spending a bit more because they have so much great stuff!
I started by looking up Julianna Deering. I had read her book “Dressed For Death” a while back and liked it. It’s the third in the series and I’ve been wanting to get the first two. Since I can spend my gift card however I want I decided to get these.
Family Christian had a buy one get one 50% off sale, so with the sale price, I was still below my $25 with two books.
And I should add, that they were easy to find. I just searched for the author and all her books popped up and I added the two I wanted to my cart.
I still had a few dollars to spend.
I made the mistake of telling the kids they could help me pick something. They wanted about 20 DVDs so I think I did pretty good convincing them that they could live with 2. Of course, we had to get 2 since everything is buy one get one 50% off. And I can’t pass up a sale.
For the DVDs I just browsed the kid’s DVD section. They have a huge selection of DVDs which was why it was so hard for my kids to choose. I browsed a few other sections as well just to see what they have and always found what I was looking for.
Sale
Family Christian has a buy one get one 50% off sale on their Books, Music, and DVDs until August 25th. This sale is good in store and online. And I just love finding books on sale!
You can mix and match items and categories to get the deal, your two items don’t have to be in the same department.
AND I get to give away a $25 Family Christian Gift Card to one lucky reader! Enter below for your chance to win.

I know you’re just dying to know what curriculum I’m using for my kids this year. Actually, if you’re still trying to decide on what you’re using, you probably are at least curious.
Reading / Phonics
I am just in love with Hooked on Phonics for early readers. My kids love it. It makes reading fun. And they seem to pick up quickly as well. Teaching reading can be so painful and Hooked on Phonics really isn’t. My Kindergartner is doing the Purple Books which is Kindergarten Level and my Preschooler who is pretty certain he wants to read (I mean, everyone else is, so why shouldn’t he) is participating with her and doing the Red (preschool) books. My Kindergartner likes to help him with his preschool books. They have fun, and she’s getting extra phonics in. It’s working so well for me.
My 3rd grader is loving these Lego DC Comics books. She’s reading well but is still afraid of chapter books. At this point, I just need to find something that she likes to read and we’ll make great progress. I got her a couple of these for her Birthday and she’s so excited. She read 4 of them in one evening. They’re writing more so I should be able to keep her supplied with these for a little while. And hopefully when she’s done with these she’ll be ready for another chapter book. I keep touting the Bobbsey Twins so maybe by the end of the school year I’ll get her reading them.
Also, I’m using Abeka 3rd Grade Reading and Comprehension sheets. It’s timed reading with questions that she does once a week. She’s needing to focus on reading all the details so these along with all her fun reading should hopefully have her reading really well by the end of the school year.
Math
Abeka Kindergarten for my Kindergartner and Abeka 3rd for my 3rd Grader. I like Abeka math and it’s working well for my girls. We’re also working on addition, subtraction, and multiplication tables with both girls. Using flash cards and number charts. My oldest needs to get faster and the younger one needs to learn them. Plus, this is more fun with two or more.
So far, multiplication is best explained as boxes of popsicles. I have 1 box of 8 popsicles and that equals 8 popsicles. 2 boxes of 8 popsicles equals 16. I’m not actually pulling boxes of popsicles out of the freezer, but it’s about the concept of groups of items.
I’ve also gotten play money and we’re playing store a lot this year because the girls can count money but they can’t figure change. So, we’re going to focus on some money skills and have fun at the same time!
English
Abeka English 3rd for my 3rd Grader. The kindergartner is doing hooked on phonics and english/grammar really isn’t useful until she has some basic reading down.
I also have a fun story starter book this year. Something the girls can work on together or separately. Just thinking creatively is an important skill that I want to work on before they reach higher grades and actually have to write stories.
History and Science
Abeka 3rd grade History, Science, and Health for these subjects. The Abeka text books are fun to read and she loves these subjects. We’re usually done with these books early.
We also enroll in local science classes at our Science Museum and Zoo. They have lots of great age appropriate classes and my kids love them! And the girls are in a lego robotics class this year as well. I love that the kids get to do lots of hands on science!
I’d love to hear. What curriculums are you using this year?
Thanks to Propeller / FlyBy Promotions for providing this beautiful book and giveaway!
Through adorable, cuddly art and fun rhyming text, I Love You Just Because will help little ones understand their parents’ love for them and that it doesn’t have to be earned. With playful artwork and the same friendly bear family you already know and love from Donna Keith’s first two books—I Love You All the Same and I Love You Even When—the sweet story of this book will touch you and your family and will remind you that family members love each other…just because.
Format: Hard Cover Board Book
Pages: 10
Purchase: Amazon
This book is so cute and adorable! My little 3yr old loves it. He has me read it to him over and over again. And we have to stop and discuss the pictures on each of the pages as we go. He loves all the different things the bears do. The rhyme is so sweet and I love that it teaches my kids that they’re each special individuals with their own likes, dislikes, and skills.

We’ve had a super busy summer. And covered many, many miles between my husband traveling for work and me & the kids traveling for family stuff. I had a sister get married, a brother come home on leave, my parents moved, two sisters graduated, and we threw in a few miscellaneous things just for fun.
I’m still finishing up my summer. It’s still HOT here in August – like in the 90’s, so we’ve got another good month of summer weather to go. I don’t even feel like starting school. But it’s that time of year, and since it’s important that we not fall behind, we’ve started school.
Part of the reason for starting when public school starts is because I’m required to do 180 days, and in order to get those all in plus all the fun things we like to do. I have to start on time. My books arrived Saturday, and we started Monday. Which means, we have plenty of days in our school year to still take breaks this month and take several trips to the local water park this year. Actually, the best thing about the water park this time of year, there’s fewer and fewer people there, by the end of the season we have the park to ourselves.
My kids all hate the cold, so come Christmas break, they don’t want to go outside. This means I have several extra weeks of school already planned in and we end early every year because of this. And snow days are school and then game days because there’s nothing else to do.
You ever had bored kids inside when it’s 10 degrees outside? It’s miserable! So, we do school instead. And play outside extra in the summer.
I think my kids are ready for school. They’re ready to see their friends at lessons and co-op and they’re super excited to be moved up to the next grade in Sunday School. I’m ready to see all my friends again too.
Summer was way too short, but we’re ready to move forward with things like learning to read, learning to multiply, and as many science experiments as I can stand. My 7yr old has requested that she be allowed to “blow things up” for science this year. I’m thinking the usual volcano, and a few other experiments like that. It’ll be a messy year for sure, but we’ll have fun and learn a lot!

Summer can be so hard on my skin. I’ve been outside with the kids a LOT this summer, and my skin definitely needs some additional moisture. So, I am quite happy that I got to try out these products.
I set this cleanser in my shower and used it instead of my usual body wash. I am very pleased with the results.
It doesn’t lather very well. I tried it in my loofah and that didn’t work very well. This body was was just a bit too lotiony to lather. So, if you’re looking for lots of bubbles, this isn’t the product for you.
I also tried it using a wash cloth (because I like to scrub with something) and that worked quite well. The pump bottle is easy to use in the shower.
The results are what I’m most pleased with. This body wash did a great job of cleansing without drying out my skin. It also moisturized without leaving my skin feeling greasy or oily.
It’s lightly moisturizing, so you’re still going to want to use the Aquation lotion after your shower if your skin really needs moisture, like mine does. But it is nice to get out of the shower with my skin already one step closer to being well moisturized.
I just love, love, love this lotion! It moisturizes so well without leaving my skin greasy. One of my biggest lotion challenges is that after putting lotion on my hands are clammy because of the lotion. I often end up having to wash my hands just to get the greasy feel off – which kinda defeats the purpose of using the lotion. Not so with this lotion. It absorbs quickly and without leaving my skin oily to the touch.
This is a great all over body lotion but honestly, I’m loving it for my hands because I can moisturize my hands without the being greasy afterwards. I need to get a bottle just for my desk so I have it on hand when I want it.
This is a lot like the Daily Moisturizing Lotion, just a little thicker and a little bit more moisturizing. I’ve been using this product after my shower and on any spots that need extra hydration. Like my shoulders after a fun day in the sun.
I’m not using it every day but just when I need a little extra moisture and it’s working great. It’s also non greasy but still does a great job of hydrating my skin.
This combined with the Daily Lotion and the Moisturizing Cleanser has been really good for my skin.
After more than a week of using these products my skin is more hydrated and refreshed than I usually manage in the summer.
All of these products are gentle and non-irritating to my skin. They also seem to be unscented so they would be safe for me to use on my kids as well.
Want to try these product for yourself? You can purchase them HERE. Or purchase in-store at WalMart and use this Coupon for additional savings. At $9 each these are a great deal!
This is a sponsored post. All opinions are my own.
Lately, Hubby and I have been discussing when to purchase a new mattress. We’ve been needing a new mattress for a little while now, but we just can’t seem to decide on what mattress to get. He’s a back sleeper, and I’m a side sleeper, but we tend to migrate toward the middle of the bed (especially when one of the kids climbs in and joins us) so a mattress with different sides just isn’t a good option for us. Which means we need to agree on a mattress.
Speaking of which, have you ever gone mattress shopping with kids? I did, once. It’s not happening again – I know, it probably will, because how else am I going to go mattress shopping? But, it’s awful. It’s a room full of beds. To be jumped on. Rolled off of. Hidden under. Etc. I don’t actually get any shopping done.
As you can see. Mattress shopping is going to take a long time. So, what to do with my increasingly uncomfortable mattress in the mean time? I visited my mom a while back and she had this awesome mattress pad on a previously uncomfortable mattress. If that’s all it takes to make my mattress more comfortable, I’m all in. But I don’t want mattress pad shopping to be a pain like mattress shopping is. Since I do plan to buy a mattress soon, hopefully. I don’t want to spend a fortune on a mattress pad either.
This is where Groupon Goods comes in. They have some great deals on mattress toppers & pads that will help me sleep more comfortably until I actually find the time (and energy) to go mattress shopping.
With so many great deals to choose from, It’ll be easy to find something that fits my budget. I’m just loving that Groupon has so many ways to save money!
In the comments below tell me, do you have a mattress pad that you love? Maybe I can find it on Groupon Goods and save myself lots of time and money. And sleep better as well!
Oh, and if you just can’t get enough of Groupon, feel free to follow their facebook and twitter!

I received this beautiful perfume in order to review my purchase experience. Bamboo by Frank Oliver smells awesome! It has a great light, feminine scent. It’s not too strong and I can wear it pretty much anywhere. Really, I’m loving it. And the bottle is so pretty. Currently, it’s sitting out in my living room because it goes so well with my decor.
And purchasing it was so easy! The Fragrance Outlet website was easy to use from start to finish. They have so much to choose from. So many items on sale. They carry full size bottles (like Bamboo) and some travel size sets. I had lots of fun just browsing before I finally decided to check out and order my perfume.
Oh, and they carry these little Airport-Approved refillable Fragrance spray bottles. Hubby’s been traveling a lot lately and I’ve been looking for something like this for him. Of course, I had to add it to my order. I was already getting free shipping, so, why not? That said, they seem to have everything I need in the fragrance department. Now he just needs to take another trip so he can try it out.
There’s several payment options at checkout. Their site, Paypal, or Amazon. So you can pay whichever way is best for you. I just used their website to checkout and it’s what you would expect. Payment information, Address information, Confirm order. The total and what I’m actually purchasing is clear and easy to find – very important for online orders. Checkout was a breeze.
My order arrived a couple of days later. Shipping was way faster than I expected! When it arrived, my perfume was nicely packaged in this cute box. So, if I was giving a gift, I would have been ready to go. This was more like giving myself a gift – which is also fun, btw. You should order yourself some perfume from The Fragrance Outlet and try it out.
They also included 4 little perfume samples – and I LOVE perfume samples!
All in all, I had a great experience. The website is easy to browse. They carry a great selection of products for both men and women. Checkout was easy. Shipping was fast – oh, you get free shipping right now, if your order is over $50. And my order arrived well packaged.
As an added bonus, I’m just loving the engraved bamboo on the back of my Bamboo Eau De Parfum. It’s so pretty!
I received this product free for purposes of my review. All opinions are my own.
